Electronic Throttle System
Smart Linear Motion Control for Precisely Regulated Engine Throttle Performance
Control your throttle your way – remotely variable and electronically controlled using smart actuator technology.
The Electronic Throttle Control System offered by BIBUS (UK) Ltd, originating from Hollin Applications, provides a modern electronic alternative to traditional mechanical throttle linkages. Ideal for off‑highway engines, generators, auxiliary drives, and specialised machinery, this remotely adjustable system enables precise, ergonomic control using a knob, lever, or foot pedal from the operator station.
Comprised of three key elements — an input device, an electronic control unit, and an electromechanical actuator such as the Thomson Electrak Throttle actuator — the system translates operator intent into accurate throttle movement without mechanical cables or complex plumbing.
Suitable for retrofit upgrades or OEM integration, this solution enhances operator comfort, safety, fuel efficiency, and engine performance while reducing maintenance and enabling flexible cabin positioning.
Features:
- Remote input options: rotary potentiometers, linear 0–5 V sensors, joystick, or lever controls
- Control unit translates variable input voltage into precise actuator movement
- Electromechanical actuator, e.g. Thomson Electrak Throttle linear actuator, handles real-world control
- Compact and sealed actuator housing, rated IP67/IP69K for harsh environments
- Optional feedback and CAN bus integration with smart actuator models
- Ergonomic installation flexibility — relocate throttle controls to cab for operator ease
- Reduced wear and maintenance vs traditional mechanical cables, with up to 500,000 cycles and corrosion resistance
Used across industries from mobile agricultural vehicles to marine generators and factory engines, the electronic throttle system is a modern, cost-effective solution for improved control and reliability in critical motion applications.
