RINGFEDER Clamping Rings and Expanding Hubs

RINGFEDER® clamping elements are designed for locking all types of hubs on shafts and axles. For example, they replace conventional shrink-fit, keyed and splined connections. This allows pinions, levers, cams, pulleys or brake discs, flywheels, couplings, sliding clutch mechanisms, rotors and more to be securely fixed.

The Clamping Bands or Retractable Discs

RfN 40** Series

Assembly rings are the modern method of creating a mechanical shrink fit. They consist of one or two thrust rings with tapered bores and a corresponding tapered inner ring.

By tightening the set screws, the thrust rings are brought together, compressing the inner ring and exerting pressure on the outer. Being positioned around the hub, there is only one interface transmitting the loads, which gives the hoop method distinct advantages, such as the ability to achieve highly concentric and well-balanced connections, suitable for high-speed applications.

Traditional shrink discs require complicated calculations, tight machining tolerances and fine surface finishes, as well as considerable effort during assembly and disassembly. The shrink disc has none of these disadvantages.

RfN 7515 Series

• Simple installation - only a few screws need to be tightened, alignment at precise angles between hub and shaft is possible in any position
• High wear resistance - the shaft and hub are not grooved, so there is no weakening of these components
• The shaft and hub can be designed to be significantly smaller (lightweight, economical and space-saving design)
• No risk of deflection – RINGFEDER locking assemblies are absolutely play-free
• Totally maintenance free

GERWAH® Couplings

GERWAH® backlash-free couplings are used in machine construction, where a torque or movement must be transmitted from one shaft to another with high angle precision.

For almost 30 years, the GERWAH® range has specialized in the field of couplings for drive and conveyor applications, from industrial equipment of all types to servo systems, linear or high-speed drives.
