Agricultural Applications

From our offices in the North East of England we design and manufacture a range of low cost controls to suit agricultural applications. We are always willing to help with modifications to your specific requirements, in fact the whole range has grown from requests from farmers and customers.

Areameter -  Basic Unit comes complete with 4 character display, two buttons, wheel and machine sensors and magnets. Simple input sequence to store the Wheel Circumference and Machine Working Width. This data is stored permanently until a change is required even on power down. The magnet is fitted to the wheel or prop shaft, and sensor to the chassis within 20mm. Every rotation of the wheel counts as the magnet passes the sensor. This adds a single area measurement to the display. There is a second input cable which can be fitted to the implement. On operation this disables the area count on headlands but continues to allow the speed to be displayed. The information stored is as accurate as any calculator, and easily the cheapest method of keeping field and machine records.

Balewrap Counter - Basic Unit comes complete with 4 character display, two buttons, single machine sensor, magnet and loud buzzer. Simple input sequence to store the required number of counts and change easily. This data is stored permanently even with power off. The magnet is fitted to the turning mechanism and the sensor close by. Every rotation of the wrap counts as the magnet passes the sensor. This adds a one to the wrap count store. As the count approaches the required number the alarm will sound and an optional external 12 volt / 4 Amp supply is output. Every wrapped bale adds one to both the running and total bale counters, which are permanently store and easily viewed. Either counts can be simply reset. A maximum of 9999 bale counts is available. The unit comes with 6mm side bolts for fitting and is weatherproof to be fitted to the wrapper.

Bale Wrap Remote Control Kit - Over the years we have seen many problems with infrared remote wrap controls. These usually stem from either sunlight interfering with the optical signal or deterioration of the screen/light transmitters. Usually we have been set the task of repairing the handsets and controls, until we had the idea to design a replacement. This design was to be a simple handset and receiver box that used RF instead of light beams. With simple robust handset and replaceable battery which included for safety reasons, a two button press to start the  wrap This handset proved very popular with local trade farmers. After a redesign to a smaller simple receiver box we have decided to release for general sale. Two button start control to prevent accidental start.

RPM Monitor - Basic Unit comes complete with 4 character display, sensor and magnet. The magnet is fitted to the rotating shaft and sensor fitted within 20mm. Every time the sensor passes the magnet the unit calculates the average R.P.M. and displays it. The unit will run between 10 and 9999 R.P.M.

Seed Drill Control - Basic Unit comes complete with a 12 LED panel, input and output cables, on/off switch, buzzer, a count sensor and magnet for automatic headland increment and a switch for sensor isolation or manual count. The unit is easily placed within the tractor cab with the output cable connected to either a cut off clutch or solenoid. The sensor and magnet fit to the drill so that on each headland the sensor and magnet come within 20mm of each other, this increases the remote count. The unit counts headland turns through the sensor and the target count is set on the control panel on the front of the unit. When the target count is met the audio buzzer will sound and tramline light will illuminate and the 12v output energises the seed cut off clutch or solenoid. The manual switch will enable the increment of count to enable to begin tramlining in the middle of the sequence and also disables the remote count. The unit will accurately give an audible and visual signal for tramlining with a controlled cut off. It is easy to install and extremely cost effective.

Dual Areameter & Seed Drill Control - This unit combines the full features of our standard Areameter with the features of our Seed drill control. The unit is supplied complete with 2 sensors for mount on the wheel and headland. The headland sensor will also increment the lane count automatically.

Dual Areameter & RPM Monitor - This monitor combines the features of the Areameter and RPM monitor into one control box.

Chainbrake/Slow RPM/STOP Rotation Alarm:

Basic control, single sensor no ignore sensor

Comes with magnetic sensor and magnet, power lead, alarm and two led. Magnet is fitted to the shaft and the sensor close by, every time the magnet passes the sensor the Sensor on the panel will light. This gives a manual check that the shaft is rotating as it flashes. The unit will not be armed until the first pass of the magnet, after that it monitors the time between passes and compares to an adjustable time 0.5 to 5 seconds. If the time is exceeded then the alarm will sound for 10 seconds and the alarm led will illuminate until the next pass.

Basic control, optional second sensor, optional Headland / Ignore Sensor

Second Sensor - As the basic control but with a second sensor, totally independent of first sensor but triggers same alarm and alarm light Headland / Ignore sensor - As the basic control but has additional sensor. When the magnet is close to this sensor the rotation sense and alarms are turned off. For example on a drill at the headland when turning around.

Specialist Bespoke Rotation Sensor Controls

As these controls are built and designed in house in England. This allows us the flexibility to modifiy the initial design to suit your application. For example in the control to the right, the rotation sensor has been expanded to 12 lanes for a seed drill monitoring system. The addition of the headland sensor and an external time adjust completes the package. Each lane has individual lights for 6 left and 6 right. The control connects to a complicated wiring junction box down on the drill.
