2/2-Way Solenoid Valve, Direct Control

The valve body of 2/2-way solenoid valves has an inlet and an outlet which are connected to each other via a valve seat. Depending on the design, the solenoid valve is in the “normally closed” (NC) or “normally open” (NO) position when not activated. An NC solenoid valve blocks the valve seat when the solenoid coil is not actuated, meaning no flow from the inlet to the outlet is possible. When the solenoid coil is energized, the seat seal opens the valve seat and flow from the inlet to the outlet is possible. With an NO solenoid valve, a medium can flow from the inlet to the outlet when the solenoid coil is not actuated. When the solenoid coil is energized, the seat seal blocks the valve seat and flow from the inlet to the outlet is interrupted.

The designation for an NC or NO valve is based on the third digit or the first letter in the product code. The letter A stands for the NC function, the letter B for the NO function. For example, for a Type 15 NO valve, this results in: 15B-1B20FZ-AC2DA 23050
